Pectopah.
Meet the people of Pectopah.

PECTOPAH is a virtual company. Working with a deep pool of talented freelancers, we produce web projects to exacting standards. Because our overhead costs are minimal, and because you don't pay for our downtime, we can offer our services at prices that would make most agencies blush.

Now, on with meeting our people.

Susan Docker, Executive Producer
Susan has been building websites and interactive projects for Pectopah's clients for the last nine years. She has produced sites for Lifeline Systems (Canada and US), Canoe.ca, CIBC, the Law Society of Upper Canada, CBC Newsworld, and Arnold Interactive. She has taught the online practical for the Print Journalism Department at Sheridan College. Before starting Pectopah, Susan was the Senior Producer of CBC Television's New Media Unit and a business consultant for Sympatico.ca.

Susan is a principal of Pectopah Productions Inc.

Bret Dawson, Producer
Bret has been with Pectopah since 2003. He has produced the redesign of websites for Rogers Sportsnet, Dome Productions, Capital Underwriters and 2 Magazine. Prior to coming aboard, he served as Senior Editor and Managing Editor of Sportsnet.ca for four years, and before that spent three years in interactive production and content management at the CBC. He has managed million-dollar budgets and has a consistent record of on-time, on-target, on-budget delivery. He has worked closely with a broad range of proprietary, commercial, and open source content management systems, including Vignette, Interwoven, Slash, Movable Type, and Bricolage. Bret has taught Writing for the Web at the University of Toronto. He has two National Magazine Award nominations to his credit, and will one day win one of the big prizes. He is sensible and friendly.

Matthew Burpee, Producer
Matthew has been working with the web since late 1994. He has worked mainly for Ryerson University but also Kaboose Inc, Apple Canada, and Virgin Mobile Canada. His vision and determination for Ryerson's large institutional website helped it receive an award in New York City, be a Yahoo! Site-of-the-Week, and be profiled on CTV Televisions Webmania show. Matthew often participates with the IT community in Toronto at knowledge sharing events and conferences such as BarCamp.

Michael A. McPherson, Videographer
Michael is a member of International Cinematographers (IATSE Local 667) and has fifteen years experience in Toronto's Film and Television industry. He has been a production assistant and production manager, and for the past ten years has been a camera assistant on over thirty MOWs, features and TV series. These credits include successful TV shows like Due South and La Femme Nikita, as well as the feature films Dracula 2000 and The Skulls. He has directed and shot digital video for the last two years for corporate and small format presentation.

Michael is a principal of Pectopah Productions Inc.

Greg Heo, Director of Technology
Greg has almost ten years of experience in the technology industry and has worked on a wide range of projects, from highway control systems and multi-terabyte data warehousing to asynchronous web applications and Flash cartoons. He likes UNIX, uses a Mac, and spends an inordinate amount of time writing and coding with the 'vi' text editor.

Michael Custode, Designer
Mike is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art, with almost 20 years of professional design and illustration experience. His work has appeared in magazines, newspapers, packaging, advertisements, and on web sites. She has created blueprints for many successful online tools in the financial sector (CIBC, Royal Bank, TD Canada Trust) and has designed user-friendly shopping cart experiences in the online retail industry (Harry Potter Shop, Sam the Record Man). Trish is also a writer and content strategist (PBSKids.org, NokiaBrier.com) who tries very hard not to use the word strategist.
